2.11 Definition of Trainees
Trainees hired after 1/1/2005 must be enrolled in library school, limited to 3 years as Trainee, BECPL must make reasonable effort to schedule librarian during Trainee’s work time in the unit or department. Exception is made for librarian’s lunch/break period. Trainee may work for a short period during librarian's lunch and breaks or in an emergency such as employee illness or absence caused by bad weather, etc. Exception made for Trainee on a Mobile Library with a Librarian accessible by telephone or email.
3.11 Salary
Remove the two week pay period from the salary schedule, salary schedule will include annual and hourly rate only,
Add Trainees into groups paid under the salary schedule
3.12 Longevity Increments
Delete obsolete subsection (a) and clarify and condense language of subsections b-f.
3.12(i) Longevity Increments
Add language to cover demotion as well as bumping for longevity steps
3.13 Promotions
Part-time librarians who are appointed to a full-time position will be appointed to the same step they have reached while part-time. Trainees are still appointed as Librarian 1 step 0.
3.15 Stipends
Increase to $200 for full-time librarian with second, advanced/Masters or Doctorate degree which is directly related to any assignment with the Library, (also for second language)
3.16 Travel
Increase mileage minimum to $4.00 a day

MOU with a "me too" clause for any increase in the health insurance waiver or addition of dental insurance waiver for AFSCME or CSEA

If there aren't any volunteers for Sunday work, part-time staff will be assigned on rotating inverse order of seniority per unit or department. BECPL can assign a Trainee if the wheel is exhausted or in an emergency situation as long as Trainee has access to the Librarian in charge as needed.
